Property regeneration is an obvious manifestation of that change with Liverpool One, The Arena, hotels, offices and apartments leading the way. But to me one of the most striking changes is the feeling of safety in a city that once upon a time did have a bit of a problem with car crime and petty theft.

A Bold Move

At last the retailers of Bold Street have a public web-face. The Everyman was turned into a cabaret theatre for the three night residency with about twelve or so tables around the stage area covered with tablecloths, a flower in a vase and complemented with gold chairs. Liverpool One has achieved the trick of making it cool to sit in the middle of a busy pedestrian thorough fare with a Cornish pasty or coffee in your hand – good food in a well-managed, convivial environment. The advertising output from England's North West (ENW) is high quality - if I didn't live here I would be sure to visit. But where would I go? Manchester, Liverpool, Cheshire, Cumbria or Lancashire?
As a consequence, I now have to consider an even wider range of culture than I did last Friday. I wonder how many others, like myself, have irrationally ignored such events.
